Remodel. Renovate. Renew.

It’s more than just a buzzword to us—it’s the cornerstone of every
Bellwether project. We get to know our clients and work together to
build spaces that reflect how you really want to live.

So how do we get you there?

Our Process

Building is all about details—and getting them right. To do that, each Bellwether job follows five steps: exploration, design, planning, construction and completion.

About Us

{ an indicator or predictor of something }

Bellwether Construction Group aims to be an innovative leader in construction and home renovation in the Charleston area. Through our commitment to process, detail and enduring relationships, we will carefully guide our clients through each step of building or renovating their dream home.

Meet Andy

As a licensed builder with a keen eye for design, Bellwether founder and co-owner Andy Shealy has a well-organized, sensible approach to construction management. While attending the University of Georgia in Athens, Andy was introduced to two lifelong loves: His wife, Julia, and the many beautifully crafted Victorian homes and Craftsman bungalows surrounding the school’s campus. When the couple moved to Atlanta, Andy personally renovated their first home. In 2004, Andy and his family moved to Charleston, where he launched his career in the construction field and earned a master’s degree in Project Management from the Citadel. Over the past 15 years, Andy renovated and built high-end homes throughout the Charleston area while working for Classic Remodeling and Structures Building Company. He and Julia live with their sons in Mount Pleasant’s Old Village.

Meet Kim

Kim Williams, co-owner, brings years of expertise in organizational and budget management to Bellwether. Kim’s interest in construction started early—as a kid growing up in the Florida Panhandle, she went from building with LEGOs and Lincoln Logs to taking apart household items like vacuums and VCRs then putting them back together again to learn how they worked. After graduating from the School of Architecture at Auburn University and moving to Charleston, she began a 15-year career at Classic Remodeling. She started as a designer, guiding numerous clients through their renovations from initial concept to final project, and later became General Manager, overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations. Kim lives in Charleston’s Byrnes Down neighborhood with her husband, Greg, and their Springer Spaniel, Frankie.
